Not true.
I have an iGo Charge Anywhere. It is both a wall charger and has a built in battery pack to charge when I am not near a wall outlet.
On my Sony PRS-600, -650, and -350 I can charge and read at the same time. So NO downtime to recharge. And I can top up the charge before I need to if I want to do so.
And I can use the thing to charge my phone, my Palm, and other small electronic devices.
