But it's not possible to read it on a Sony Reader, nook, Kobo, etc. It's not in ePub and for us to buy it and then have to convert it after we've paid for it is not worth the time. If it was in ePub to start with (not via Smashwords as I cannot stand their meatgrinder conversions) then sure, the people interested who do use ePub would be able to use it as is.
By limiting yourself to the Kindle, you do upset people and make them feel you just don't care about them. This is what exclusivity does. It causes problems where problems don't need to exist.
