Ooh, I've got that in my TBR list. Looked interesting, if perhaps a bit grim.

At the moment, I have three books going:

How to Live by Sarah Bakewell - it's a sort of biography of Michel de Montaigne based on his Essays.

The King's Speech by Mark Logue and Peter Conradi. It's not the book the movie was based on, but rather a bio of Lionel Logue, the "hero" of the movie (or rather the speech coach who worked with the King). Written by his grandson (with help from a journalist), it's actually quite interesting and offers insights they couldn't fit into the film.

La Seduction by Elaine Sciolino - that book about how seduction explains the French way of life. Just started it, but so far it's pretty good.
