Did someone come with a plausible explanation for this ? Because given the touch technology used for the Sony for example (not sure if the Nook and Kobo Touch use the same), I really don't see how it would alter the quality of the screen. Now there are other things as : the font used (were people able to compare with the exact same font ?), and what it seems to me like too much tolerance from Eink on the quality of the screen : for example, I once had the Sony PRS 650, PRS 350 and PRS 950, and the 950 seemed to have a noticeably greyer background, howere they all use the same touch technology. So it seems to me that there are different quality screens (as, I guess is the case for a lot of electronic components), but to the point the human eye is able to discern those differences.
