I share the opinion that people outside the US should stay away from the Nook. B&N goes out of their way to make it more difficult for international users to use it.

Given that you want a touch screen and French-English and English-French dictionary support, I'd recommend the Sony. It has the same Pearl screen as the Kindle. After setting up the dictionary to English-French in the preferences, looking up a word requires a double tap on the word. A screen comes up offering the translation or meaning. Tap inside that screen to open a full page dictionary with the words around the one you selected. Tap the X in the corner to close the dictionary and take you back to the book. I don't think there's anything out there that's more convenient then two taps.
