If you really want to buy now, want a touchscreen, and have the money, buy a Sony.
However, if this is not a matter of live and death, you can wait until September and if Amazon is going to release any new device, those should be available then.
On the other hand, if you are in a tight budget, need the reader ASAP, get a Kindle. It is a good reader with a nice customer support.
There will be better, faster and maybe less expensive devices later. In the IT and computer world, 3 or 6 months is a lot. So don't get stuck thinking you should wait. If you want it now and have the money, enjoy it now!
