Synergi, did you get it updated yet? Mine came as Badger also, but I was able to upgrade all the way to Ermine by using the Update function. It should take you to Dingo, at least.
For the browser crash the only thing that has worked for me so far is disabling the javascript (in browser settings). Sorry your new EE isn't.
