They are like popcorn; I've found I'm able to read three or four of them in the time that it takes me to slog through the latest fantasy epic (or maybe six or seven in the time it takes me to read a George RR Martin novel!).
The only down side is that Roberts tends to fall heavily into formula; it's probably inevitable for an author who pounds out 4-5 novels a year.
