Is the slider convenient to use?

Since I live in France, I can't physically check on the Nook
You will find it hard to use the BN bookstore and you will not have warranty support for a Nook if you are in France. The Nook is sold only in the US. This includes books, you must be in the US to buy books from BN or be willing to use an ISP blocker of some sort.

Since the Nook reads EPub you will be able to shop at other stores with ease but you will not be able to buy from BN.

People outside of the US have not had much luck with getting support from BN if there is a problem with their Nook.
