One other possibility is the battery itself. What generation is your Kindle? I know there's a video somewhere that shows how to change the battery on a K2, and it's fairly easy, but you must be sure you fully understand the procedure before you start or you could ruin your Kindle. I don't know if there's a similar video showing how to change the battery on a K3.
