The device 'USB Mass Storage Device' cannot be stopped because a program is still accessing it.
You will get this message if you have not closed the Windows Explorer window that opens when you connect the reader to your computer. So close any open Windows Explorer window showing the reader as a drive before you click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon.
