Define "real computer"

I think tablets are not for content creation work, like working on documents, connecting via ssh to other machines (although you can) writing hundreds of emails every day, etc. But they are better for web browsing, showing reports, video, entertainment. With great portability and battery life.

So at this point I agree with you that for content creation tablets are not the right product, but if you want a good and fast netbook that you can use on the go for daily work, they cost the same or more than a tablet at this moment.
