I'll second the recommendation for "low self-discharge" batteries. The best known brand is Sanyo's Eneloop, available at Amazon.com, Costco, and some other places. And there are some other brands, but check the label to be sure they are "low self-discharge." There's a huge difference between these and conventional NiMH batteries.
