Yep. Good ol' "Give me all your money this is a stickup" Steve and his proprietary cables! However, most electronics firms have agreed to use the micro-USB port as a standard. So it is a good thing, despite Apple's greed and insistence and doing their own thing.
However, your iPhone A/C charger should accept the standard USB to micro-USB cable which came with your Kobo Touch. So you should have a ready to use charger for your Kobo Touch.
