In this case, there has to be a distinction as this is about Kindle users being able to borrow library eBook in AZW/Mobipocket format. Because if I just said users, that would be not correct. I am a user. But I am not a Kindle user. So there has to be a way to distinguish those that use a Kindle and those that do not.
Also, distinctions do not always harm. It's just a label to distinguish one group from another. I am a Sony user. You are a Kindle user. You could be both. But, when we need to differentiate we give a label.
