It is
NOT at higher cost on Kindle than the old Fictionwise subscriptions. In eight years of subscribing, the absolutely lowest price at which I managed to buy a subscription was a few cents over $35 (my average two-yearly subscription cost was about $39). A two-year subscription at Amazon for those in the US is just $24.
I wouldn't buy anything with DRM if I wasn't also able to immediately remove the DRM for safe archiving/conversion.
The formatting is significantly improved over the old Fictionwise issues. And the editor has promised that the two 'missing' issues will appear in electronic form somehow.
I'm reasonably happy, although I wish they didn't have the DRM.
