There are two protocols for BT keyboards; one is a standard HID device and the other is serial port emulation (I forget what it's called for now). Might be that the keyboard isn't compatible. I have paired a Zagg keyboard meant for an iPad no problems.
Also make sure the PE is set to discoverable or it won't work, and you need to key a passcode into the keyboard as well unlike other BT devices.
I just use USB though. I get dropped keys on Bluetooth when I type quickly, and Bluetooth is a power hog.
