The new information cited was a comment by a person who we must assume is involved in the case. Why should we believe that person any more than those cited in the article?

I am just making observations about what you have publicly said and done. And I also care about the actual truth, not what people say is the truth.
If anyone is "seriously burned" by my saying that conservatives play word games, I shall suggest that they get thicker skin to accept the truth. I bet no one would bat an eye if I said "politicians lie."
I don't claim to KNOW what exactly happened. But based on the public statements and the kinds of people invovled, I strongly suspect that "religious" reasons were the driving force and everything else is just an effort to calm outrage.
