Sit me in front of my MacBook, and I am skipping all over the place, never settled. In fact, although I sometimes use my MacBook to control my music server, once I have selected the music to play I have to put the MacBook out of arm's reach to stop me tinkering away at something instead of concentrating on the music I have chosen to listen to.

You may be correct that I miss all the goodies available from 3g, but I think I rather like it that way.

i think the kindle lets you read and read only like you say. i get cravings for information from the internet while reading. the 3g of the kindle gets me through when i am away from an internet connection. i think that's as simple as i've worded it.

perhaps my mindframe is different from some of you.

i just can't help but think having it there when the moment arises is better than not having it.

you'd be surprised how informed i can become just from quick kindle web browsing.
