New firmware being deployed now
An upgrade to the Nook STR firmware was posted today on the Barnes and Noble site. It was announced in the B&N Nook Forum:

The update should automatically download to your STR sometime over the next three weeks while your Nook is connected to B&N. They are downloading on a rotating basis based on serial numbers or you can download the file with the upgrade and load it manually yourself. The file is 103MB.
