I made the mistake of buying an "inexpensive" cover for my orignal nook only to discover it really wasnt protected, even in my briefcase. So i ended up spending more to get an M-edge, which by your standards will not be inexpensive.

When i got my STR i bought the aforementioned Industriell Easel case. I've loved every minute i've had it. Its perfect for setting up to read in my kitchen. But most of the time, when I am reading, the STR comes out of the case because its got such a nice tactile feel to it.

Not as helpful a suggestion, i know, but i learned my lesson the first time.
