It's a very simple matter to install apps or multiple iterations of apps with similar functions (like CoolReader, FBReader, Aldiko, Nook4A, K4A, etc) and decide which one you like. Then delete the rest. Or if your like me, don't delete them until you run out of memory.
A little more research is required for paid apps, but they are usually so cheap, that even then, not much is lost if you don't like them.
