Same thing is happening to me. I don't have a cable on me to test it on a computer. Pin reset does jack all.
Interestingly, of the 3 Kobo Touches I've experienced, all 3 have done this. Anyone else get the impression that the kobo touch is just a really, really shitty piece of hardware? "Read anywhere!" -- if you're lucky enough to have a device that works consistently. *shrugs*
