Thanks for the welcome !
As I replied just now to Neil, I was under the possible misunderstanding that mobileread was an opposition Site to Kindle/mobi format, and I could upload e-pub files for the Sony Reader, B&N Nook, Kobu, iRiver devices, and so on.
From the reactions however, I reckon -as my Spy Thriller quotes- this is well wide of the target !
So, as a Newbie, I would welcome any enlightenment and any suggestions as to any appropriate upload sites, and I believe one maybe Smashwords, etc.
