Here is what worked for me guys. My nook was also stuck at the rooted forever screen. With the cable still hooked to my computer (mac) and nook, I removed the SD card. Then I pressed the power and nook button until a warning message popped up on my mac about the nook being unsafely removed. Then the nook started up and was back to normal!! -Mike
