Assuming you're doing it right it should work, but there is no need to download the plugin anymore. Go to Preferences - Plugins - Get new plugins, highlight the Kindle Collections plugin and click install.
Read the
Intro to plugins "How do I install a plugin using Plugin Updater?" section for current directions. If after reading and following the directions in this sticky post the plugin doesn't work come on back and we can move forward.
