. I lost a huge amount of faith in it after Ian McEwan won with
Amsterdam, which was clearly a political compromise decision when two of the judges could not/would not agree whose favourite should win. It certainly shouldn't have been the risible Amsterdam (my review
here, if anyone is interested...)
Of this list, I only know 2 of the authors (Barnes and Hollinghurst) and none of the books, so I can't comment yet.
