Indeed. Though the Kindle 2 browser had fewer features, it did handle that better, and, IMO, was more useful for quite a bit of the type of stuff it was best used with.
Nonetheless, there are hacks which I hear get around the issue, and sites like skweezer, which can mitigate it in some cases.
