I recommended one to a complete stranger just yesterday. My husband was looking at the Nook Color to be used for work related technical books. As we were discussing it I mentioned how much I love my Kindle, and a lady standing next to me asked me all about it - her biggest concern being reading in sunlight. So I took my Kindle out of my purse and showed it to her. I even explained the difference between the one I had and the Special Offers unit. I don't know if she made a final decision, but she seemed happy to have heard from someone who owns one and very impressed by the Kindle, itself. I left saying that I hope she enjoyed whichever e-reader she chose.
I wish I could get commission, though. Hubby told me that I started a Kindle revolution at his work when I surprised him with his. He said there are at least 12 new Kindle owners in his area alone.
