Edit: So sorry... I see now that this is a duplicate thread. I see this question has been asked in previous threads, and I should have done a better job searching the forum before posting.

I want to fix the tags on my epub books since they're not all consistently labeled and don't have covers, but I don't like running it through an epub to epub conversion since it adds some oddities such as not being able to change margins or line spacing in the Kobo Touch.

So how do I update the metadata without conversion, or how do I do an epub to epub conversion without screwing up all my books? Also, how do I get the covers to show up in the Kobo?
