there are several threads here playing similar tunes (this, neils "why ppl stay at MR" and leliekellys appreciation thread) the answer is simple: since we are mostly bookworms from various fields of interest, ages and places the chance of getting involved into an interesting/funny/inspiring/u_name_it conversation with interesting people is significantly higher than average. I found myself here discussing things from physics, techstuff, social and linguistic phenomena, books up to woman (always a worthy topic)... etc.pp. I'd call myself a moron were I not lurking around here.
In fact I still have a discussion via PM in waitstate since because I'm working trough reference material (sorry Stitchawl I haven't forgotten you I'm just reading)
there are at least 2 topics I haven't started yet 'cause I haven't a chunk of time in one piece to properly express said ideas.
MY reason for MRoholism is just the same as for using MP3-player during travel with public transportation - I'm allergic to idiocy.
