This worked for me but I don't know why. Without calibre open, I deleted the two .calibre files from the touch using Windows Explorer, ejected the touch, plugged it in again, then opened calibre and transferred the books to the KT. I could then see the books on the kobo. There is a thread on here about it, try post 3 here (which is where I got it from):
