Through my Google Account-since, like with my Kindle account, I tended to get books from the Google Books browser anyways, and not from within the app.

edit: Just tested it again-worked seamlessly-clicked on a couple books in my browser on Google Books, and they show up automatically in the Google Books App on the iPad.
