I have had mine for 2 weeks now. Using Wi-Fi only and keeping it always on, have resulted on a battery life of 1 week. I have used 3G only twice.
Please consider that using 3G will consume a lot of battery specially if you are moving and the Kindle needs to search for a new connection.
