With the current Best Buy promotion the 3g with special offers is actually a few dollars cheaper than the wifi only version.
I don't really have a use for 3G because I rarely download books and if I need internet I use my iphone. I returned my wifi and got a 3g because of the lower price and because it would be a nice feature if i ever sell/give away/loan my kindle to someone without wifi (like my parents).
I doubt i will use the 3G much, if at all.
