My sony has been to four continents so far, and has spent time at the beach, by the pool, in hot weather and cold (below freezing) and still going strong. I keep it in a map case (waterproof bag) when there's a chance of it coming into contact with the water, and in a hard case when there's a chance of it being bent or otherwise damaged. I take as much care with its security as i do with my mobile phone or purse. It's a sony, so no one can buy books using the non-existant wifi.
