I see 505's going for $75 to $100 on Ebay and PRS-650's going for $250 up so I would say you got a good deal. I went from a 500 to a 600 and then sold the 600 to get the 650. The screen on the 650 is incredible! I would say the only screen that comes halfway close was your 505 screen but even between those 2 screens there is a big difference. That along with the touch and dictionary and I think you will be happy. You are correct about the charging plug. The new Sonys use micro-USB connectors and the older ones use mini-USB. The good thing is that almost everything is using micro-USB now so it is easy to come up with a charger. I use my Blackberry charger or my son's Droid charger. You should also be able to use a Kindle charger and if all else fails, you can plug it into your computer and charge it via USB. The drawback to that is if it senses that its plugged into the computer, it goes into a usb drive mode and you can't read while it's charging. Charging from an adapter will allow you to read it.
