You can always copy the original book entry (create an empty book, then merge into it with "keep others") then play in the copy. However, if your ebook is correct, why would you want to change it to support a better MOBI ? Why not change the conversion setting for the EPUB->MOBI conversion so that both the EPUB and MOBI end up being correct? If the EPUB is not correct, then do EPUB->EPUB until it is correct, then delete the ORIGINAL_EPUB.
