Yep, don't rely on a USB charge or on Sony's over-optimistic battery level meter in the screen. You need a tough full charge from the mains every week or so. I run a long charge every week and never let the meter fall below 60%. Since I made this a habit two or three years ago, I''ve never had the slightest hitch with my PRS 505. Before then, I used to hit the kind of snag you've described. Sony knows this flaw. For a company producing such superb software, it's a mystery to me that they don't include a wall charger and adapters in the package. Luck and best wishes. Neil
