Finished
Hunter's Run by George R.R. Martin, Gardner Dozois and Daniel Abraham this evening. Part of the "Big Deal" sale going on currently.
I like SF Signal's brief synopsis:
An angry prospector is forced by aliens to hunt someone down.
This is one of the most interesting story lines I've read in SF in a long time. The protagonist is not someone I'd like my daughter dating (if I had a daughter). Ramon drinks too much, has a terrible temper and manages to kill a government Ambassador at the beginning of the tale and decides to head into the wilderness to escape. Before the end, we have "The Defiant Ones" with an alien tied to Ramon, a duplicate Ramon, a desperate race to return to civilization and an ending that I still don't completely understand. And I still enjoyed the heck out it.
4 of 5 stars.
