Denture fixative usually.

But I find that some people are in denial and refuse to use either 'denture' or 'false teeth'. The preferred term for those people seems to be 'dental plate' or just 'plate'. Although once I saw a patient who insisted that the piece of plastic with one tooth on it was her 'tooth braces'.

Health care can be difficult when you are dealing with embarrassment and/or shyness - even dialect differences around the UK can lead to misunderstandings!

I think I now know 5 or 6 dialect words that all mean 'gag reflex'!
