I've been on a late 19th century/early 20th century "adventure, romance, lost world, buckle my swash" romp for the last month or so that included authors like H. Rider Haggard (Thanks HarryT!), Anthony Hope, Rafael Sabatini, and Stanley J. Weyman. I enjoyed them all immensely. Some I've had "on the shelf", but many came from the library right here at MR. Thanks to all who contribute.
As much as I enjoyed my short "time capsule," I'm ready for something a little more contemporary. I'm giving fantasy newcomer Bradley P. Beaulieu's
The Winds of Khalakovo a try. I've read a few short stories by him that I really enjoyed, and I'm hoping that talent scales to novel proportions.
