I think
1984 is the most horrifying of predictors. Particularly the pervasive and intrusive surveillance we see in the UK, and that politicians tend to want in the US. Here is the single most famous dystopian novel, cited all the time, where everyone basically knows
Big Brother is watching... And the UK is doing everything they can to make it come true!
