My mother left us a complete 12 place-setting set of Royal Copenhagen plus the various serving platters, dishes, and tureens. when she passed away. She loved to throw formal dinner parties. Having no desire for it ourselves, we gave it to my son and his future wife. (She actually has a Wedding Registry! ) I think they will get more enjoyment from it than I would. A classic case of 'pearls before swine,' I guess...

Possibly it's a female thing, hon. Anyway, I wouldn't expect you to get excited over plates and bowls, given your lifestyle anyway. Where would you put fancy dinnerware in a home with no cabinets and a tiny kitchen? I don't throw formal dinner parties either, but Fiestaware isn't "fancy" stuff (although you couldn't tell by the prices, LOL). I just like pretty dishes. And I can justify liking pretty dishes if they actually happen to be useful as well
