Filark, Thanks for the link to the old Kindle app. That was indeed the problem. I had tried downloading the kindle app from the amazon site with no luck (kept saying it was incompatible), then from the amazon appstore app, again with nothing but problems. The one from the link you provided worked perfectly though. Now I have the device I wanted and needed all along. All is good again! Thanks!
