Nope. It looks neat, but it would be less portable and the risk of damage would be greater.
I'd stick with my 505. Textbooks are the only problem, but in landscape mode it's still fine. A slightly larger font size for the more unwieldy PDFs would be nice.
When they get cheap I might purchase a larger e-Book, it would have limited uses. Otherwise the 505 is great, the contrast is a bit nicer than the 500, so the only real improvement in screen technology that I really would like is color e-Ink. Otherwise there isn't much that a different reader would do "better" than the 505.
My next big technology purchase will be a nice OLED display.
