We (100's of folk musicians ) would all gather on Sundays around the fountain in Washington Sq. Park and play all day. Imagine 20-30 people all playing and singing that song at the same time! We had to stop playing at 5pm (the police would come and tell us to move along) so we'd stroll up McDougal Street between W4th Street ("Positively 4th Street) and Bleeker Street, stopping in the various coffee houses to play and perhaps pass the plate.
Nice memories!
