I once experienced the same problem as you (although with the right sensor). In the end and after many unsuccessful tries to revive the sensor it showed that this was a symptom of a low battery. After charging thoroughly the sensor worked again. But of course, there may be other reasons for a nunfunctioning sensor.
Hope your sensor will come back to life soon!
