Let me try to make this a little easier. There is no one reader that is best for all people and the one that you need really depends on what is important to you and what you need it for. Below is a list of statements and the reader that best suits that person, select the statement that best describes you and go get the reader that is paired with that statement:
1) I frequently read books that no one else has ever heard of - Kindle
2) I like cheap books - Kindle
3) Usability and a great interface is the most important thing to me - Nook Simple Touch
4) I read foreign languege, non-english books - Bookeen
5) I want to be able to read absolutely anything I come across in electronic book stores -Pocketbook Lite
6) I need to read charts and diagrams - Kindle DX
7) I want the absolutely the simpletest thing to use available - Kobo and Kobo Touch
8) Have a smart phone and I want to pay $0 for the reader - download free readers from Barns and Nobles, Amazon, Borders, Mobi Pocket and Overdrive.
9) I want integrated disctionaries and the ability to take notes in the margins - Sony PRS
