I got the Next6 this week and so far am loving it. It is more ereader than tablet and as long as that is kept in mind it works great. Can check my email and go on the internet through the wifi no problem. I use calibre and save to disk like the Next6 is a hard drive. The books show up in the ereader. I need to figure out how to get the covers to show up as they don't always.
Now have had the Next6 for 4 months. Had to send it back under warranty because it was locking up when I would put it down and it went on suspend. Then it would lock up while I was reading, wouldn't shut off. I was constantly at the reset button.
I will say that efun's customer service is great in that they had a new Next6 to me within two weeks. Unfortunately this one doesn't like books. I tried transferring the books that I had taken from my old Next6 and which worked fine on it, saved to my pc and then put onto the new one and it comes up with an error message and "force close" if I have more than about 16 books on it.
I phoned the toll number and then messaged tech support online as well. Tech were back to me in a couple of hours via email. Their solution did not work however. Go to settings -- to applications -- menu -- filter key. Then go to the program ebook and where it says browser hit the clear data key. About an hour later they did the call back from my phone call and told me to do the same thing and walked through it with me. Still didn't work. Then they wanted me to factory reset. I explained that when it first started coming up with the message that is what I did and it didn't work. Not too crazy about factory resetting again after getting most of my apps back on.
I have got alkido working partially. Installed books with digital editions. Not all the ones showing on my PC ended up on the unit. I cannot always see the files on the sd card either.
My son is taking computer courses and explained the problems with android and how he thinks it is unstable.
I really hate android. Hopefully windows 8 comes up with a better way to run a tablet. They had a dell at walmart that runs on windows and is a kind of tablet with flippable keyboard. Just not liking the 2 pound weight and at least inch thick idea. And 12" screen.
Until then I hope this next6 will work with my alkido program on it and not mess up occasionally because its on the sd card.
